Our day program

Roots & Rosebuds

We are happy to gather our little homeschool pod on an Olivenhain home ranch, surrounded by a nature preserve and a blank canvas for gardens galore.

The heart of our space is calm, peaceful, and joyous. Children gather by the prayer tree, move and stretch, enjoy yoga and play, meditate, share gratitude, and grow in a loving environment.

Our day program currently welcomes children ages 4–8 for meaningful enrichment experiences rooted in nature, creativity, connection, and wonder.

Rose Enrichment was created for families who are awake — spiritually, intellectually, intuitively — and want their child to know who they are before the world tells them. Rooted in universal spiritual principles, yet balanced with practical knowledge and skills to navigate the world with confidence.

We are a community rooted in universal principles — the timeless truths across all wisdom traditions: that kindness is strength, stillness is power, and every child arrives already whole.

Every day begins and ends in the soul — through meditation, affirmations, and sacred stories from Eastern and Western traditions. At the heart of our experiences are the 26 soul qualities of the Bhagavad Gita: fearlessness, compassion, truthfulness, equanimity, and more. Not as lessons — as a way of living together. When a child knows who they are at soul level, the world cannot so easily tell them otherwise.

Embodiment

Embodiment

Children learn by kneading dough, weaving wool, moving through space, and feeling the world with their hands. The body is not a vehicle for the brain — it is an equal partner in learning.

Through Waldorf eurythmy, cooking, handwork, and sensory play, children develop emotional regulation and confidence from the inside out. Emotions are stored in the body — we give children the tools to understand and move through their feelings, not suppress them.

Your child is not separate from nature — they are nature. In a world of screens and noise, unmediated time in the living world is one of the most powerful gifts we can offer. Here, the Earth is not a field trip. It is where everything happens.

Children tend the garden, follow the seasons, forage, and cook from what they grow. We are raising children who love the Earth so naturally that caring for it is simply who they are.

Intellect

A 5-year-old's brain is extraordinary — sponge-like, creative, hungry for meaning. Conventional programs arrive too early with worksheets and too late with wonder. We do it differently.

Learning here is play with purpose. Guides who are genuinely passionate bring aliveness to every lesson — no devices, no rote memorization. Story, inquiry, discovery. Every resource can be brought in to meet a child exactly where their curiosity lives.

Roots & Rosebuds

Four Days a Week. A Lifetime of Foundation.

Designed for children ages 4–8 — the window when everything lands deepest. Four days a week gives children the rhythm they need, with room left for family, rest, and unstructured time.

Children help prepare and share their own lunches each day — building independence, cooperation, and a joyful relationship with food. This is a close community. Your child won't just learn here. They'll belong here.

A day at Rose Enrichment

Rhythm as Foundation

  • 10:00 — 10:20 AM

    Soul

    Morning Stillness

    The day opens in silence. Breathing, spoken affirmations, and a moment of gratitude. Each child lights a candle for something they are thankful for — anchoring the soul before the day begins. Sacred stories from both Eastern and Western traditions are woven through the morning, planting seeds of wonder and timeless wisdom.

  • 10:20 — 11:00 AM

    Planet

    The Living Land

    Morning in the garden — watering, composting, foraging, or nature journaling. Children learn to read the world through their senses, guided by close observation and wonder.

  • 11:00 AM — 12:00 PM

    Intellect

    Main Lesson Block

    Deep immersion in one subject for three to four weeks — mathematics through geometry, language through myth, science through direct experience. No textbooks, only living material.

  • 12:00 — 1:00 PM

    Soul

    Shared Meal & Story

    A communal lunch prepared from the garden, followed by a story read aloud — mythology, biography of great souls, or nature literature chosen for the season.

  • 1:00 — 2:00 PM

    Embodiment

    Handwork & Craft

    Knitting, woodcarving, watercolor, beeswax modeling. The hands think in their own way — children discover the wisdom that lives in making things.

  • 2:00 — 2:30 PM

    Soul

    Closing Circle

    Each child shares one thing learned, one thing felt, and one thing they will carry home. The day ends as it began — in presence, in gratitude, in community.
